About Wyndham Carols
A community Christmas tradition bringing Wyndham together through music, celebration and the Christmas story.
Our story
A Christmas tradition for Wyndham
Wyndham Carols by Candlelight proudly continues the tradition of community-wide Carols by Candlelight celebrations that began in Werribee in 1951, bringing churches and the broader community together in the celebration of Christmas.
Today the event brings thousands of people to Werribee Park for live music, family entertainment, community connection and a shared telling of the Christmas story.

Our history
Continuing a local tradition
Community carols have been part of Werribee's Christmas season for generations. Wyndham Carols continues that tradition for a growing and changing community.
1951An annual community-wide Carols by Candlelight celebration begins in Werribee, held at Chirnside Park Reserve, organised by a collaboration between a number of churches in Wyndham.
1980sAn improved organisation between the Christian Churches of Wyndham forms to continue perpetuating the annual community Carols by Candlelight.
2000sThe Wyndham Carols by Candlelight finds a new home on the great lawn of the Werribee Park and Mansion.
TodayThe Wyndham Carols event consistently sees thousands gather at Werribee Park for the major annual Christmas celebration which has quickly grown into the largest community-led Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne.
FutureWe continue building a sustainable event that can serve Wyndham for generations to come.
